People Doing People Stuff

I must admit there are days when I have no idea what to look at: probably a case of too much ‘other’ stuff going on in the head. Whenever that happens it’s best to let my eyes wander around with maximum freedom…

Amsterdam CS (part 1)

The other day I went for a walk around Amsterdam CS. It’s one of those places I pass through all the time. Trains and people: on-off, start-stop, come-go, in-out. It’s nice to stand for a moment and watch it all…

City Life (part I)

Sometimes, and this can happen quite suddenly, I cannot think of anything to look at. But, and this happens every single time, just before panic sets in, a small voice that lives on one side of my brain whispers: “The city. Remember to look at the city!”

Nieuwendam

Nieuwendam is one of those places I’ve cycled through countless times; and each time I promise to stop and look around — next time.
As we all know, “…next time…” can quite unexpectedly become “…right now…”

Sunday Morning

An easy stroll on a lazy Sunday morning. It’s springtime, which means the sun sun is up and about long before most people have managed to climb out of bed. This leaves the city’s streets bright and empty — for people like me.

Abuja Diary 8: Millennium Park

On this particular Sunday, we hopped into the car and drove off to Millennium Park. It’s Abuja’s primary outdoor chillout zone.

Zuid

If I remember well, this was the first warm-ish day of 2017 or, it was the first one I remember. The point is, a bit of sunshine can turn a half hour trip into a three hour drift. That’s the way it goes some times… 😊

Nooosugar/Looking, Not Thinking

You know how it is… Too many thoughts fighting for attention—a very noisy head! The best thing is a mental reset, and what works best for me is to look at things without thinking. I simply describe the shapes and colours as they appear to me, and everything calms down 😊.
